Zara Biologist on Team that Discovers Rare Blind Catfish Never Found in U.S.
Zara scientists were instrumental in capturing the first specimens of the eyeless catfish Prietella phreatophila in the United States. After a year-long search, Zara biologist Peter Sprouse and Amistad National Recreation Area resource specialist Jack Johnson collected live specimens of the endangered Mexican Blindcat, which are now residing at the San Antonio Zoo.
