Borehole and Trench Environmental Oversight
In areas where protected karst species are present, federal, state, or local regulations often require that boring or trenching activities be overseen by a Registered Professional Geoscientist or a person holding a permit to work with protected species that may be present. Typically a downhole inspection system is used to inspect voids potential habitat for protected karst species. Zara staff are permitted to work with most protected species in central Texas and Zara owns two downhole inspection systems capable of inspecting boreholes over 100 feet in depth. Zara has assisted public and private sector clients with borehole and trench monitoring on a wide range of projects including bridge footings, interstate overpasses, trenches, and electrical transmission lines passing through protected preserve land. Our inspection systems allow us to provide color videos to clients for inspection, engineering/design, and regulatory purposes.
